About Hamilton, Ontario

Have you heard of the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the Hamilton Bulldogs? Who hasn't!

The City of Hamilton is a large southern Ontario city which increased in size several years ago by amalgamating six other communities into it's fold. These communities have joined the City of Hamilton and added to the city's richness and depth. These communities include Waterdown, Flamborough, Ancaster, Dundas, Stoney Creek and Glanbrook.

There are many post secondary schools for a person to continue their education including McMaster University, Mohawk College, Redeemer College and Liasion College for those looking to improve on their culinary skills.

When you come to Hamilton you will need to visit the park on the waterfront at the foot of Bay Street where you can roller-blade, skate-board or go for a leisurely stroll along the waters edge. The park is also home to car shows which happen several times a year and are a favourite for the children and parents alike.

Hamilton (2011 population 519,949) is a port city in the Canadian province of Ontario. Conceived by George Hamilton when he purchased the Durand farm shortly after the War of 1812, Hamilton has become the centre of a densely populated and industrialized region at the west end of Lake Ontario known as the Golden Horseshoe. Hamilton is home to the shared Royal Botanical Gardens, the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, the Bruce Trail, McMaster University and Mohawk College. The Canadian Football Hall of Fame can be found downtown right beside Hamilton City Hall and across town to the east, the Canadian Football League's Hamilton Tiger-Cats play at Ivor Wynne Stadium. Partly because of its diverse environment, numerous TV and film productions have been filmed in Hamilton, regulated by the Hamilton Film and Television Office.
